Real Estate Photography ■ Pomar das Oliveiras
At the beginning of the year, I decided to offer a new service and embark on a new professional activity, complementary to my existing web design and commercial photography activities: real estate photography. Thanks to Tiago, owner of a very nice vacation rental called Pomar das Oliveiras, I have the chance to do my first real estate photo shoot in the central region of Portugal, near Serta. A big thank you to Tiago for giving me this opportunity, it is perfect for me to learn by practicing.
For my first photo shoot for an Airbnb vacation rental, I decided to rent more suitable equipment than my Canon 7dII with my 24mm. I used Fragmaticos to rent a brand new Canon R6, a full-frame hybrid camera, with a 15-35mm wide-angle lens, the ideal equipment for real estate photography.
That day, the weather was unfortunately not very favorable because it was very cloudy. And even if it gave a diffused and soft light that I always appreciate, Tiago and I would have liked to take pictures with the sun, especially by the pool!
I spent almost 2 hours there in the middle of the day to photograph all the rooms of the house, as well as the garden with swimming pool and the house itself. Here is the result.
These photos are not yet of professional quality, there is a lot I can improve. Regarding gear, it was perfect, but both in the shooting and in the editing, it is possible to do much better.
It is a constant learning process, as with all other photographic genres.
